Lucknow: Of the 30,000 youths registered for the Lucknow Skill Festival, interviews were conducted for 14,400, while 8,124 secured jobs in diverse fields such as electronics, BFSI, logistics, IT-ITES and automotive on Wednesday despite adverse weather conditions.Programme coordinator and BJP leader Neeraj Singh said that the highest package offered to a youth was Rs 4.8 lakh per annum. He said high registrations both online and offline were the result of the dissemination of information regarding the skill festival through social media and mobile messages. Singh stated that high numbers prove that with the right guidance and platform, Indian youth have the potential to make a mark in any field.Held in collaboration with the Union ministry of skill development and entrepreneurship, the festival saw extensive participation from industries and institutions, with over 100 prestigious companies offering opportunities in over 20 sectors. Fields such as automotive, electronics, logistics, BFSI, healthcare, aerospace and green jobs provided attractive options to the youth. Several Central Public Sector Undertakings (CPSUs) — such as Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Bharat Engine Manufacturing Limited (BEML), MIDHANI, Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders, and ONGC — participated in the event.Union minister of state for skill development and entrepreneurship Jayant Chaudhary said, “The Lucknow Skill Festival has proven that Indian youth are second to none in talent. Enthusiasm of the youth indicate that the future of India will be built on skills. Over 8,000 selections and packages reaching up to Rs 4.8 lakh are evidence of the festival’s success.”During the festival, a Future Skills Zone was also established, showcasing emerging career fields such as artificial intelligence, data analytics, drone technology, electric mobility and cybersecurity. Registration for India Skills 2025 was launched from Lucknow, providing young talents an opportunity to represent India in the WorldSkills International competition. The Metropolitan Youth Front organised a blood donation camp in collaboration with the medical college where 75 units of blood were donated to mark the Prime Miinister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday. BJP State General Secretary Ram Pratap Singh, vice-president Baj Bahadur, Neeraj Singh and metropolitan president Anand Dwivedi inaugurated the camp.Joint secretary of the Union ministry of skill development and entrepreneurship Shail Malge, chief financial officer of the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) Rajesh Swaika, BJP Lucknow president Anand Dwivedi were also present.
