Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh has launched a scathing attack on the Yogi Adityanath government, accusing it of giving preference to upper castes in government jobs meant for Dalits, backward classes, and tribals.
Alleging a widespread recruitment scam in Uttar Pradesh, Singh said, “We demand a thorough investigation into this recruitment scam, strict punishment for the culprits, and full implementation of reservation as per the Constitution.”

Highlighting specific instances of alleged discrimination in filing vacancies, he said,”At Banda Agricultural University, out of 16 appointments, 11 were given to Thakurs, 2 to general category candidates, and only 2 to Dalits and 1 to a backward caste candidate. Similarly, in the recruitment for 27 posts at Lakhimpur Cooperative Bank, 15 positions went to Thakurs, 4 to general category candidates, and 8 to backward caste, Dalit, and tribal candidates.”
Sanjay Singh criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for remaining silent on the issue, stating that while Modi portrays himself as a leader of the backward classes, he has not addressed the usurpation of rights of Dalits, backward classes, and tribals.
He further questioned the BJP’s approach, saying, “I too raise slogans of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai,’ just like BJP members. But while they speak of uniting Hindus and their welfare, they practice politics in the name of Hindus. How can we proclaim ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ if injustice is done to the sons and daughters of Bharat Mata? Are backward classes, Dalits, and tribals not Hindus? Should they not be entitled to their constitutional rights and reservations?”
The AAP leader emphasized that 50 percent of government jobs in the country are reserved for backward classes, Dalits, and tribals, while 10 percent are reserved for economically weaker sections of the general category. Only the remaining posts should be open to the general category. He called for a serious investigation into the ongoing recruitment scams in Uttar Pradesh.
He also alleged that recruitment exam papers are often leaked, yet the government fails to take responsibility. “Lakhs of young people fill out forms, but instead of jobs, they are met with lathicharges. Youth face police action everywhere from Prayagraj to Lucknow, Gorakhpur, and Varanasi,” Singh said, holding the Uttar Pradesh government and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath accountable for these scams.
Sanjay Singh warned that the BJP’s caste-based favoritism is fueling resentment. “In Uttar Pradesh, the Chief Minister and his supporters are filling jobs with youth from their own caste, depriving others of their rightful reservations. They may feel powerful, but this is creating anger and discontent among 80-85 percent of other castes. Some upper-caste members may be happy to secure 15 out of 27 jobs, but they are ignoring the larger backlash from other communities.”
Sanjay Singh said, “The BJP and RSS want to abolish the Constitution and the reservation system in this country. It has been 100 years since the RSS came into power, but not a single leader from a backward, Dalit, or tribal community has risen through them. How can we expect such a party or organization to deliver justice?” Therefore, this recruitment scam deserves a serious investigation. The culprits should be sent to jail, and reservation should be fully implemented.”
