Bhubaneswar: Odisha govt on Friday cleared 25 investment proposals worth Rs 4,729 crore with a potential to generate 25,200 jobs. The state level single window clearance authority (SLSWCA), chaired by chief secretary Manoj Ahuja, approved projects spread across districts like Khurda, Jajpur, Cuttack, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Ganjam, Mayurbhanj, Angul and Gajapati.Among the major proposals, Colortone Textiles Pvt Ltd will invest Rs 700.29 crore in Khurda for an integrated textile facility, generating 1,010 jobs. In steel, the panel approved Konark Ispat’s Rs 990 crore investment plan in Jharsuguda, which is expected to create 2,000 jobs through expansion of its rolling mill, pellet plant and captive power unit.The latest approvals span 13 key sectors — textiles, steel, chemicals, IT, infrastructure, logistics, renewable energy, tourism, metal downstream, circular economy, cold storage, capital goods — underscoring Odisha’s push for diversified industrial growth. These projects reflect Odisha’s strategic focus on employment-intensive sectors like textiles and apparel, while also investing in high-value industries such as steel, chemicals and renewable energy.Textiles and apparel sector could result in 18,000 jobs, the most among the projects cleared. Major investments include SCM Garments Pvt Ltd (Rs 150 crore, 4,000 jobs), Piu Fashion Pvt Ltd (Rs 96.99 crore, 3,700 jobs), and Techno Activewear Pvt Ltd (Rs 100 crore, 2,500 jobs).As Odisha advances steadily towards its vision of Samrudha Odisha 2036, the state govt, under the leadership of chief minister Mohan Charan Majhi, continues to accelerate inclusive industrial growth with a focus on balanced regional development, a senior govt official said.
