Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Friday said 5,000 youth will be inducted into government jobs through the Goa Human Resource Development Corporation over the next two years. In addition, 2,500 jobs are set to be rolled out soon under the Staff Selection Commission, Sawant said.

“Though we are giving 500 appointment letters for the post of primary teachers on a contract basis, these posts will be filled through the Goa Staff Selection Commission in the near future,” the Chief Minister said while addressing a Rojgar Melava, organised at Kala Academy in Panaji under the Sewa Pakhwada initiative. He said that the 500 primary teachers are being appointed on a contract basis to ensure that every primary school has two teachers.

At the Rojgar Melava, the Chief Minister distributed over 900 appointment letters to newly inducted youth across various government departments and organisations. The event was organised by the Department of Information and Publicity.

Speaking further, the Chief Minister said the government is focused on building a self-reliant and dignified workforce.

He urged the youth to support this vision, stating that sincerity in work and commitment to public service are the cornerstones of state and national development.

He said Nari Shakti, Yuva Shakti, Kisan Shakti and Garib Kalyan are the four foundational pillars of the Prime Minister’s roadmap for a developed India.

He told the newly appointed youth that, although they will serve in different roles, their unified purpose is service to the citizens.

The appointments were made in departments including the Goa Human Resource Development Corporation (GHRDC), Education Department, Rural Development Corporation, Department of Environment and Climate Change and Water Resources Department.

Water Resources Minister Subhash Shirodkar also spoke on the occasion.

Chairman of GHRDC and St Cruz MLA Rodolf Fernandes, Mayem MLA Premendra Shet, Mandrem MLA Jit Arolkar, Rajya Sabha member Sadanand Shet Tanawade, Mayor of the Corporation of the City of Panaji Rohit Monserrate and others were present on the occasion.
